It Begins!

During the month of February, our monthly support commitments reached our goal!

As I write this letter I am sitting in our apartment in Rib Lake, where we have just begun our new position at Camp Forest Springs.

The last year has been a tremendous experience for us. From the exciting anticipation of this move, to the encouragement we have received from so many different people, we have truly been blessed. Fund raising for ministry was initially daunting, yet our year “in limbo” has been wonderful. We have benefitted greatly from time spent with so many of you, and the many prayers we know you have lifted on our behalf. Please don’t stop now.

We began our work on February 28th. The winter program at camp is obviously well underway, and there are many things to learn and take care of before the even more intense summer season begins. Pray for a smooth transition into a new and unique lifestyle. Camp is a very unusual place to work, but there are thousands of lives impacted by this ministry every year. We are excited and honored to become part of it.

We would love to keep you all updated as much as possible. At this point, our plan is to update our blog every week or two. There is always something going on at CFS worth sharing about.

Above all, please continue to pray for God’s spirit to bear fruit through this ministry. Specifically, pray for wisdom this month as I begin to work with Norm Hoyt to finalize the trip staff hiring for the summer and to learn my many new responsibilities.

Digging in,

Dan & Laura

We were invited to join the LTD students on their annual retreat
where we slept in snow caves and discussed Richard Foster's
The Celebration of Discipline. A memorable "first day on the job"!
