I got news the other day that the mainland sea caves on Lake Superior were reachable on foot. Ice conditions have not allowed for this anytime in the last five years. Of course we had to go. It was a fun day, and everyone seemed to enjoy the change of pace. I wouldn't call it "restful" exactly, but it was worth it.

Some caves are not meant for some people. Thanks for trying to help, Esteban.

Obviously I believe in the idea of a gap year. It is an attempt to create an opportunity for young people to get much needed training and preparation at a very key chapter in their lives. As we have forged ahead with this out-of-the-box ministry, it has been great to see more and more support for this idea from Christian (and non-christian) leaders. Here is an article from CPYU, a leader in Christian study of youth culture.
